This course is intended to pothole fundamental approaches of psychological counseling, to propound the similarities and differences among these approaches, to use principles and techniques of these approaches and theories in counseling process. In this context, fundamental concepts and principles, and the explanations related to therapeutic process of various psychological counseling/psychotherapy theories that are grouped under the headings of Psychodynamic (Psychoanalytic and Adlerian), Behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral (Behavioral, Cognitive-Behavioral, Reality), Humanistic (Existential, Person-Centered, Gestalt) and Contextual/Sistem (Feminist, Family Systems and Multicultural) are investigated.
- grasp philosophical basis of various psychological counseling approaches - learn basic concepts, principles, techniques of the counseling approaches, explanations related to therapeutic process of each psychological counseling - compare the similarities and differences of psychological approach. - grasp the application of each psychological counseling approaches and evaluate all the approaches from a holistic perspective - discuss psychological counseling applications related to each of the psychological counseling approaches - investigate and discuss the findings of research regarding each counseling approach. - explain how to make use of the concepts, principles and techniques put forward by each psychological counseling approach - clarfiy the role as a counselor in line with the explanations of the psychological counseling approaches
