Preparing report after sharing and discussion of each psychological counseling approach. Making presentations about the course topics, and carrying out practical studies. Discussing and preparing reports about the similarities and differences between the approach undertaken in the course and other approaches. Making their self evaluations in terms of each psychological counseling approach. Reporting and discussing the research findings related to each psychological counseling approach by investigating the related researches. Investigating the case studies about application of psychological counseling approaches to the counseling process. Reporting and evaluating psychological counseling approaches by means of holistic viewpoint.

Catalog Content This course is intended to discuss fundamental theories in counseling psychology, similarities and differences among them, and principles and techniques of these theories in counseling process. In this context, concepts, principles and the explanations related to therapeutic process of various counseling psychology and psychotherapy theories that are grouped under the headings of Psychodynamic (Psychoanalytic and Adlerian), Behavioral and Cognitive Behavioral (Behavioral, Cognitive-Behavioral, Reality), Humanistic (Existential, Person-Centered, Gestalt) and Contextual/Sistem (Family Systems and Multicultural) are considered.
