Catalog Content This course offers an exploration of ‘Auteur film theory’ through an assessment of its historical background and development with key films by acknowledged auteur film directors. Auteur theory is the film theory that sees the director as the creative artist who forms a unique style in their films. As well as the theory, the course focuses on auteur film criticism. With wide range of writings and examples, the course guides the student to be informed about one of the most innovative and informative theory and criticism in cinema history.
