The PhD program of Speech Language Therapy is a program that provides expertise and academic competence in sub-fields of language and speech disorders and gives the title of doctor to students who have received their master's degree.

For students with a master's degree with thesis, at least seven courses, seminars, qualifying exams, thesis proposal and 180 ECTS credits in total, not less than 60 ECTS credits, and thesis study and Language and Speech Therapy Clinic I- From II-III-IV courses; for students who have been accepted with a bachelor's degree, 14 courses with a minimum of 120 ECTS credits, a seminar course, a qualifying exam and a thesis proposal, as well as a specialization course of not less than 180 ECTS credits, thesis and Language and Speech Therapy Clinic I-II-III-IV consists of lessons.

Students enrolled in the integrated doctorate program have at least 14 courses, not less than 120 ECTS credits, proficiency exam, thesis proposal and seminar courses, as well as the Applied Clinical Study I-II-III-IV in the master's program and the Language and Speech Therapy Clinic in the doctoral program. It is required to take I-II-III-IV courses.

The PhD program requires taking courses, clinical practice, research, taking part in projects, assisting the lecturers of the department for academic competence, taking part in community service and awareness activities. At the end of the courses, the student is obliged to take the proficiency exam. If the student passes this exam, he/she starts to work by finding an original research topic in line with his/her advisor's suggestions and prepares his/her thesis. After presenting their thesis to the institute, students have to defend their work orally in front of a five-person jury.
