The Undergraduate Program in Arabic Translation and Interpreting aims to educate translators and interpreters who can use Arabic at an advanced level; who possess a solid understanding of the cultural, literary, and social dynamics of the Arab world; and who are equipped with both theoretical knowledge and strong practical skills in the field of translation. The steadily growing political, economic, cultural, and academic relations between Turkey and Middle Eastern countries have elevated Arabic to a strategic position, thereby making the need for Arabic–Turkish translation and communication services even more apparent. In this context, the program seeks to train competent individuals who can meet the demands of the present age.

The program consists of a compulsory one-year Arabic preparatory education, followed by four years of undergraduate study. During this period, students acquire proficiency in both written and oral translation while also receiving a comprehensive education in language and culture through classical and contemporary texts. Graduates will be equipped not only to pursue careers in translation but also to assume active roles in academia, media, diplomacy, cultural institutions, and international organizations.
