Weeks Topics
Week - 1 Introduction – Course Overview and General Information The objectives, structure, and evaluation process of the course are explained. The importance and general framework of behavior modification programs are discussed.
Week - 2 Student Selection – Preparation for the Implementation Environment Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to be included in the program are identified. Permissions for the environment, ethical considerations, and observation planning are addressed.
Week - 3 Observation Process – Identification of Problem Behaviors The student’s behaviors are observed using anecdotal and ABC (Antecedent-Behavior-Consequence) recording techniques. Problem behaviors are identified.
Week - 4 Target Behavior and Program Preparation A priority behavior is selected. The target behavior is defined. Behavioral objectives are written, and appropriate intervention techniques are selected to design the program.
Week - 5 Program Development and Approval The behavior modification program is finalized and submitted for instructor approval. Implementation begins upon receiving approval.
Week - 6 Program Implementation – Week 1 The prepared program is applied to the student. An appropriate data collection method is chosen, and initial implementation data are gathered.
Week - 7 Program Implementation – Week 2 The implementation continues. Observations of behavioral changes are conducted, and data are recorded. Adjustments are made if necessary.
Week - 8 Program Implementation – Week 3 The intervention continues. Daily observations and records are collected. Data are regularly transferred to graphs.
Week - 9 Program Implementation – Week 4 The intervention continues. Daily observations and records are collected. Data are regularly transferred to graphs.
Week - 10 Program Implementation – Week 5 Progress and behavioral changes are analyzed. Data graphs are updated. Interim feedback is provided to the family and the teacher.
Week - 11 Program Implementation – Week 6 The continuity of observed behavioral changes is monitored. Interim evaluations are conducted, and implementation notes are recorded.
Week - 12 Program Implementation – Week 7 As the implementation nears completion, graphical data analyses are carried out. The overall implementation process is evaluated.
Week - 13 Program Implementation – Week 8 Final implementation data are collected. Final graphs are completed. The intervention process is concluded.
Week - 14 Evaluation of the Implementation – Writing the Final Report The entire program process is reviewed and evaluated. A final report is written. Feedback is shared with the family and teacher. Students present their work.
